My boyfriend extraordinaire and I recently bought a beautiful piece of land with a maple grove and a sugar shack “Cabane a Sucre” as we say here in Quebec! We will be making our first batch of maple syrup and product this season coming! We are planning to build a home in the next year, but in the mean time we have to spruce up this little shack enough to be comfortable while we build. So…. I have started with some curtains! a bit of a woman’s touch if you will! Also since there is nothing to do in the evenings and it gets so dark so quickly I have been been knitting away …… Voila! Its a pumpkin hat!! A pattern I received from Ravelry, a fantastic knitting a crochet community online. Mister Emilien is the lucky recipent!! Looking good mister!
- The little sugar shack!!
- The curtains!! I used a kitchy lace on the back just to go with the sugar shack theme!
- The back curtains I was able to recycle my late grandmothers hand woven table cloth….. I know this may be sacre religious but I thought, it is better to see the beauty of the hand work everyday then just once a year if that!
